Blackrock College, known for its strong athletics program, needed a state-of-the-art sports facility on a tight timeline and budget. Sprung provided a rapid, cost-effective solution with a fully insulated, high-performance structure.
The Des Places Sports Hall measures 24.4 m × 56.4 m (80’ × 185’) and features a hard wall “Sprung Shield” along interior and exterior walls to protect ducting while providing a durable rebound surface for athletes. Daylight panels at the peak of the structure maximize natural light, enhancing the playing environment, and a self-supporting canopy over the main entrance adds both functionality and visual appeal.
