Mississauga Hospital, already operating a COVID-19 assessment center, needed to increase patient capacity in anticipation of potential surges based on Public Health Ontario projections.

Sprung, in collaboration with BLT Construction, delivered a fully insulated 15.2 m × 50.3 m (50’ × 165’) structure on a nearby parking lot, connected to the hospital via two corridors. Delivered just four days after ordering and constructed in 14 days, the facility provided 90 additional patient beds. Engineered to withstand extreme wind loads and heavy snow, the structure is designed for future disassembly and reuse.
